4 burning questions heading into Bellator 255
Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville plays host to the Fightsphere once again as Bellator 255 kicks off the promotion’s 2021 schedule with its most dominant champion set for action in the main event.
The headline bout will see two-division king Patricio Freire put his 145-pound title on the line against Emmanuel Sanchez in a title rematch in the semifinals of Bellator’s featherweight grand prix.
Welterweight contenders Neiman Gracie and Jason Jackson will do battle in a pivotal co-main event bout at 170 pounds, while Colombian flyweight contender Alejandra Lara takes on unbeaten Japanese contender Kana Watanabe in a big fight in the women’s flyweight division.
Throw in the promotional debut of rising Russian star Usman Nurmagomedov and the second Bellator appearance of bantamweight contender Magomed Magomedov and it all adds up to a solid card of action on Friday night.
Bellator 255 takes place Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card airs on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
