5 burning questions heading into Bellator 251

Mohegan Sun Arena takes center stage Thursday night as the promotion’s go-to venue during the COVID-19 pandemic stages the Bellator 251.

The fight card features a host of fascinating matchups, including a main event featuring a notable new signing, as former UFC light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson takes on Dutch legend Melvin Manhoef in a 205-pound headliner.

Also set for action is heavyweight prospect Tyrell Fortune, who will look to return to the win column against debuting Said Sowma, while Bellator lightweight and welterweight stalwart Derek Anderson returns to the cage for the first time in more than a year to face short-notice replacement Killys Mota.

Throw in the return of undefeated middleweight contender Austin Vanderford and a battle of in-form light heavyweight prospects Julius Anglickas and Alex Polizzi, and it all adds up to a compelling midweek fight night.

Bellator 251 takes place Thursday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card airs on CBS Sports Network following prelims on MMA Junkie.

Here are five burning questions ahead of fight night.
