How powerful is Yoel Romero? This broken jaw X-ray will show you
Yoel Romero hits hard. That’s a fact.
If you’re doubting that simple truth, look no further than Alex Polizzi and his smashed up jaw to prove you wrong. Wednesday, Polizzi shared a pair of X-ray images, one of his facial structure and one of his foot. I’m not a doctor, but neither looked particularly good.
The jaw image as you’ll see for yourself below this paragraph shows a crack from the tooth-line all the way down to the chin (really technical medical terms, I know). The foot X-ray also showed a crack on the left side.
It just goes to show you, as they say, it takes power a long time to dwindle, even when a fighter’s other attributes are diminishing with age. Romero, 45, defeated Polizzi at Bellator 280 in May via final-second TKO. The victory snapped a four-fight losing skid for Romero, as well as his first Bellator win. Meanwhile the loss was Polizzi’s first by finish and snapped a three-fight winning streak.
