Jornel Lugo wants to ‘dominate completely’ at Bellator 265 against Keith Lee, earn spot in potential grand prix
Jornel Lugo wants to leave little doubt in the minds of everyone watching him compete at Bellator 265.
On Friday, kicking off the main card, Lugo (6-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) will take on Keith Lee in an important matchup for the bantamweight division.
“My goal is always to make sure when I go in the ring that the fight is not close,” Lugo told MMA Junkie. “I don’t want it to be like, ‘Oh, these guys are about the same,’ I want to go out there and dominate completely.”
Through three fights under the Bellator banner, Lugo has won each via unanimous decision and hopes a win over Lee (7-4 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) will set him up for a spot in the bantamweight grand prix, if that indeed comes to fruition.
“Easy million dollars, man,” Lugo said about the potential tournament. “Easy million dollars and get that belt. I definitely think it’s gonna happen for sure. It’s gonna happen, so winning this fight is just making sure that I’m gonna be in it.”
Lugo is planning on picking up a win on Friday, compete one more time before the year is out, and prepare for a tournament where he would compete against the best Bellator has to offer in the bantamweight division.
