An undisclosed injury has forced undefeated prospect Logan Storley out of his upcoming fight.
Storley (11-0 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) was slated to meet Mark Lemminger in the featured preliminary bout of Bellator 242 on July 24 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. Sources tell MMA Junkie, however, that Storley must bow out of the bout after sustaining the injury. No further details are available, other than to specify that Storley does not have COVID-19.
In Storley’s place, Jake Smith will compete against Lemminger (10-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) in a welterweight matchup. Known as “The Half-Black Attack,” Smith (7-3 MMA, 1-1 BMMA), who is based in Vancouver, Wash., dropped his most recent Bellator appearance, a second-round submission to Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 226.
No word yet on a return timetable for Storley, a four-time NCAA wrestling All-American out of the University of Minnesota who is 6-0 in Bellator competition.
