Alexander Volkov once again came up short in a career-altering moment Saturday when he lost to Ciryl Gane in the UFC Fight Night 190 main event.
Volkov (33-9 MMA, 7-3 UFC), a former Bellator champion, has dropped the ball in some key moments during his UFC tenure. The headliner at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas was another opportunity for him to get over the hump, but it was not to be. He ended up on the wrong end of a unanimous decision against Gane (9-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC).
At just 32, Volkov is by no means ready to be written off as a relevant force in the UFC heavyweight division. He needs an adjustment, though, and that could look like any number of things.
