UFC 240 reactions: Winning and losing fighters on social media

Since the early days when the sport was anything but a mainstream endeavor, the MMA industry has thrived and survived through various websites, forums, and, perhaps most importantly, social-media platforms.

Fighters interact with fans, each other and many more through the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, which helps outsiders get a deeper look into the minds of the athletes.

Following Saturday’s UFC 240 event in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada several of the winning and losing fighters, along with their coaches, training partners or family members, took to social media to react to the event or share a message with supporters.

Oss 👊 . . . I didn’t come to apologize, this is my job; It’s normal that I’m not perfect always. I’ve lost. It has nothing to justify, now is to go back, train and correct the mistakes. In my course of mistakes and successes, I just want to renew my thanks to everyone who was rooting for me. Thank you for all the support and all the kind message I have received. You guys are fucking. As you can see, I disabled the comments. Don’t take me wrong, criticism has always been and will continue to be welcomed; but unlike that are the manifestations of hatred. Hate for hate, without the addition of anything that is really relevant. I deactivated the comments because, between the responsibility I carry when raising the Brazilian flag and the expectation I carry from my compatriots, there is in my midst my emotional, ordinary person like everyone here, made up of hits, but also many mistakes. So just boraaaa, we have mistakes to fix and good points to perfect. Oss 👊 #atretanelas #atretanaotiraferias #ufcbrasil #ufccanada #UFC #ufcfighter #lutecomoumagarota #mulheresnooctogono

Won’t lie, im hearthbroken. 3 consecutive L is not great, when you try to be the best in the world. I was more than ready and was better than ever, @arm_011 was simply the better man. I dont know what’s going to happen next. The only thing I know is that i’m not done. I will be back. I still think i’m getting better everyday, I’m healthy and I still have the passion to fight. I love my life and I’m proud of what I accomplished so far, this is just a pretty big bump in my career. I would like to thank my coaches @firas_zahabi @h2omma @levis.dlabrie @ryanortizo_onelegwonder @myologik_performance @georgesstpierre And I would like to thank you guys for the support. I love you all. Ciao. Ciao. #🚫🦊

I took a day to travel home and sulk in my sorrows and while my heart is still broken I’m still proud of my performance. I will never be ok with losing but I take solace into losing to a man like Max, a true champion that represents himself, his family, and our sport like no other. I can take this loss like a man and show my children that failing and getting knocked down is ok just as long as we get back to our feet to fight again. I’m far from done but right now I just want to enjoy my family. Thanks to my team for always having me prepared to the fullest, getting ready for Max was a daunting task but yet they had me ready. Thank you to all the fans for their outpouring of love and support through out my career. And special thanks to my Family and my Wife for being my backbone and letting me know what is truly important in this life of mine. ❤ till the next time…..#Fe

Man finally made it back home! What a week it has been! The amount of love I got before and after the fight is incredible! It made me appreciate all the places I’ve been and the connections I’ve made with people along this journey. It’s really humbling to see just how many people from my past that are still rockin’ with me even though we don’t even talk. Thanks for all the support y’all! 💯 I really want to thank the TEAM that really made this all possible. All of the guys at @fortis_mma for pushing me at all times, my coaches @sayifsaud @krukasib @djbert @mfscaccia @extremestudioperformance @coach_bagby for giving me the tools I needed to get through this fight, @fit.meals.prep for keeping me lean and mean, and @travismanndc for making sure I was healthy and ready to go to war! I also want to thank my pops @fl_boy_ my mom and sister @diamondlachey for being there and supporting me every step of the way! I couldn’t do any of this without y’all. Real talk. UFC free fight: Charles Oliveira rallies to light up Michael Chandler for first title win

Charles Oliveira proved he had championship mettle when he battled through some early adversity against Michael Chandler. Javier Mendez disagrees with Daniel Cormier’s claim that Islam Makhachev more dangerous than Khabib Nurmagomedov

For Javier Mendez, Islam Makhachev is more skilled than Khabib Nurmagomedov but not more dangerous. Daniel Cormier, who also trained under Mendez at American Kickboxing Academy, said UFC lightweight champion Makhachev is even more dangerous than former champ Nurmagomedov was during his prime.
