UFC Fight Night 126 play-by-play and live results

AUSTIN – MMAjunkie is on scene and reporting live from today’s UFC Fight Night 126 event, and you can join us for live play-by-play and official results beginning at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT).

The event takes place at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, and the card airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, former lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone (32-10 MMA, 19-7 UFC) takes on Yancy Medeiros (15-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) in a welterweight bout. In the co-feature, Texas’ own Derrick Lewis (18-5-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) meets fellow heavyweight Marcin Tybura (16-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC).

Jared Gordon vs. Diego Ferreira

Round 1 – Ferreira jabs in and works his right hand to follow. Gordon fires back in close before taking a blatant kick to the groin, and we pause. Ferreira again closes on the restart, and they’re trading in close. Both fighters scoring with punches, but again, Ferreira’s inside kick goes low and we’re forced to stop. Miragliotta gives a hard warning and threatens a point deduction. Ferreira lands a nice knee to the body and attempts to convert a clinch to a takedown. Gordon hangs in and then gets tagged with a right hand that briefly wobbles him. he soon initiates a takedown and can’t complete it. Ferreira is taking the leg. In the next exchange, Ferreira lands a left straight that drops Gordon to the mat. Gordon is trying to grab a leg as Ferreira pounds, but Ferreira gets to his back and simultaneously traps an arm. More unanswered shots aren’t making the situation any better, so Miragliotta makes the call and waves off the bout.

Geoff Neal vs. Brian Camozzi

Round 1 – Camozzi tries to tag Neal early with a high kick, and the two punche off low kicks. Neal flurries in close with his hands and pushes Camozzi to the fence. Fighting for position, Neal suddenly spins off, and the two trade kicks. Both trading with punches, and Neal is getting the better of exchanges. He again pushes Camozzi into the fence, and the action stalls. Camozzi tries to wrap the head, but he doesn’t have the angle. Neal again out, and they square off. Neal with a body kick, and they trade hoks. Both looking for big shots, and Neal nails a nice left straight. In the clinch, they jockey for position. Camozzi gets free and tries to put together combinations. Neal is there for all of them and drives to the fence. Camozzi forced to take a knee. Neal sees and opening and tries a choke. No hooks in, but the old school bulldog is there, and Camozzi taps. Impressive debut.

Roberto Sanchez vs. Joby Sanchez

Round 1 – Roberto Roberto Sanchez in quickly with a hard straight right, and then transitions to a takedown. Joby Sanchez hits a switch, and the two scramble for position. Still at Joby’s back, Roberto Sanchez drives for a takedown against the fence. Joby again with the switch, and Roberto Sanchez transitions to the back, climbing up on Joby and securing a body triangle. Joby Sanchez trying to make his neck scarce and control the hand, and Roberto Sanchez slips his arm under the neck as Joby Sanchez throws his body to the canvas. Roberto Sanchez has the neck, and there’s nowhere to go. The slam actually helped him secure the finish as he got his arm underneath the neck. Impressive performance for Roberto Sanchez.

Sarah Moras vs. Lucie Pudilova

Round 1 – Pudilova jabs in and circles with a low stance. Moras takes a jab and misses on punches. But a head kick slaps Pudilova, and she quickly converts her move to a takedown, landing in guard. Elbows to the midsection, and then she postures up and works ground and pound. Closed guard for Pudilova, and Moras whacks her with a right hand. Elbows in close. Moras beating up Pudilova, who shows no signs of initiating a scramble. Moras misses a pass, but she’s scooting Pudilova to the cage so she can maximize damage with her ground and pound. Half of the round to work. More elbows and punches, and Pudilova is stuffed against the cage as Moras stands overhead and holds the legs. Even when she loses her balance, Pudilova can’t capitalize and explode up. For no reason whatsoever, Montalvo stands them up, and Pudilova gets after Moras, whacking her with several punches. A right hand cracks Moras, and she drops to the mat. Armbar attempt right of the bat, and then a triangle. Moras switches to the armbar, and Pudilova’s arm looks pretty bad. She stands up and escapes. In the final seconds, she peppers Moras with hammerfists. The bell saves “Cheesecake,” and Pudilova steals the round on MMAjunkie’s scorecard, 10-9.

Round 2 – Pudilova out early with punches – no touch of gloves. Moras kicks the leg and draws another punch. Pudilova moving laterally and picking her shots. Moras ducks under and misses on the takedown. Armbar attempt again. Pudilova working to pull out. She stands out of it again and escapes the hold. Moras driving forward, trying to get the takedown, and Pudilova just won’t let her. In side control on top, Pudilova works for mount and settles for guard when Moras adjusts. Pudilova now working ground and pound against the fence. Pudilova stands and fires down a shot, and Moras slaps on a reverse triangle. Pudilova pauses, and then she pulls out. Instead of engage, she stands up and pulls back. Moras tries to get back with punches. Both fighters are tired. A right hand drops Moras, and Pudilova turns up the heat as the round comes to an end. MMAjunkie scores the second frame 10-9 for Pudilova, putting her up 20-18.

Round 3 – Pudilova presses forward again, and the two slug it out. Moras a little short with her punches. They’re trading jabs. Moras breaks the engagement with a takedown attempt, and she just can’t get it. Pudilova stuffs it and gets back to her feet, and then pushes Moras to the cage, firing off a punch before disengaging. Moras still hanging in there and slinging leather. Her face and nose are bloody and swollen. Pudilova moving laterally to avoid the worst of Moras’ offense, but a jab is repeatedly tagging her. Moras charges forward and misses a clinch attempt, and Pudilova fires back with a combo of her own. Moras again shoots, and Pudilova’s sprawl is still there. Stuck on the leg, Moras adjusts and gets Pudilova on her back. In guard, Moras revists her first round strategy. Again, she misses the pass. Pudilova ties the head as Moras attempts to work ground and pound. Triangle setup from Pudilova is unsuccessful as Moras postures. They’re trading short shots as time winds down. Moras passes to half guard and Pudilova sweeps her, ending the fight with a one last punch to Moras. MMAjunkie scores the frame 10-9 Pudilova, who gets the 30-27 decision.

Josh Burkman vs. Alex Morono

Round 1 – Burkman whips the leg early as Morono closes distance. Both miss on initial exchanges of punches, so they go back to the legs. Burkman favors the side kick low. Morono missing on a check hook as Burkman closes. Nice leg kick staggers Burkman’s footing. Big straight short for Morono, but another leg shot prompts Burkman to switch stances. Burkman runs right into a pair of punches and drops to his butt. As he rights himself, Morono jumps on the guillotine choke and drops to the mat. It’s in deep. Burkman has no choice. Go to sleep or tap. He chooses the latter.

Oskar Piechota vs. Tim Williams

Round 1 – Williams jabs in, standing very upright. Piechota feints and pushes back and gets caught with a right after throwing his first punches of the fight. Overhand right for Piechota puts a point on his scorecard, and then an overhand right. Williams digs the leg and resets. Williams goes high with a kick and draws a body shot. He redoubles his push and lands a one-two. Piechota fighting backward, and out of nowhere, cracks Williams with an overhand right. Williams instantly drops to the canvas. He’s holding on for dear life on his back as Piechota flurries away, but Hatley has seen enough and calls it off.
