Thiago “Marreta” Santos is a man on the move after UFC on ESPN+ 3.
This past Saturday, Santos continued his rise in the light heavyweight division with his biggest win to date, a TKO of Jan Blachowicz in the UFC on ESPN+ 3 headliner from Prague, Czech Republic.
Santos (21-6 MMA, 13-5 UFC), 35, now has three stoppage wins since moving up to 205 pounds last September. He’s defeated Eryk Anders, who also is a traditional middleweight, as well as Jimi Manuwa and now Blachowicz all by either knockout or TKO.
Afterward, Santos called his shot to face the winner of Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith for the light heavyweight title. It’s worth noting that Santos already owns a TKO win over Smith at middleweight.
For that, Santos has made a significant jump from honorable mention into the numbered rankings at light heavyweight, which you can see above, along with the rest of our weekly rankings.
