Video: Conor McGregor’s days as a UFC champion are done. Overreaction?

Conor McGregor was finished for the first time with strikes this past Saturday at UFC 257 after Dustin Poirier scored a vicious second-round TKO in their rematch to exact a measure of revenge.

The result leaves questions about McGregor’s future, as it’s been more than four years since he can lay claim to earning a quality victory. That, of course, took place in November 2016 when he finished Eddie Alvarez to become the first simultaneous UFC two-division champion. Since then, McGregor was stripped of both the featherweight and lightweight titles, lost a boxing to Floyd Mayweather, lost a title fight to Khabib Nurmagomedov, finished Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds, and was stopped by Poirier in their rematch. What McGregor does next could be up to him, but it’s clear – as even he admitted – that inactivity and parachuting in and out of MMA simply won’t cut it.

On this week’s episode of “Spinning Back Clique,” we debated bold statements, asking if they were overreactions or on the money. So … Conor McGregor will never win a UFC title again. Overreaction or on the money?
