One of the most famous fighters in MMA history makes his return Saturday on home soil.

Fedor Emelianenko (39-6 MMA, 3-2 BMMA) headlines Bellator 269 in Moscow against Tim Johnson (15-7 MMA, 3-3 BMMA). It will be Emelianenko’s first fight in his home country in more than five years and is widely thought to be part of his retirement tour.

More than a decade ago, when Emelianenko was riding an unbeaten streak that stretched more than eight years, he was considered not only the best heavyweight in the world, but the best fighter in MMA history.

In recent years, though, after the massive growth of the UFC, that status has been called into question.
