UFC 251 ‘Embedded,’ No. 4: Quarantine’s over
The UFC returns after a one-week break on Saturday with UFC 251, and the promotion’s popular “Embedded” series is back to help build the excitement ahead of the action.
UFC 251 takes place in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
After the late addition of Kamaru Usman (16-1 MMA, 11-0 UFC) vs. Jorge Masvidal (35-13 MMA, 12-6 UFC) for the welterweight on late notice, three title fights are official with Alexander Volkanovski (21-1 MMA, 8-0 UFC) vs. Max Holloway (21-5 MMA, 17-5 UFC) set to rematch for the featherweight belt in the co-main event and Jose Aldo (28-6 MMA, 10-5 UFC) vs. Petr Yan (14-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) for the vacant bantamweight strap on the card, too.
The fourth episode of “Embedded” follows the featured fighters as fight week continues, including Volkanovski and Holloway, who both make time to hit the beach now that they can leave their rooms. Here’s the UFC’s description:
Max Holloway takes a post-quarantine hike to the seaside Octagon; opponent Alex Volkanovski travels there via golf cart. Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade preview their upcoming rematch. Amanda Ribas, Jose Aldo and Petr Yan also talk to media.
