UNCASVILLE, Conn. – No one has had an answer on the ground for Aviv Gozali.
The undefeated welterweight has shown a diverse jiu-jitsu skill set and has tapped out every opponent he’s faced with first-round submissions, each with a different technique.
After Gozali (5-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) submitted Logan Neal with a Kimura at Bellator 249 on Thursday, he was asked how he would match up with jiu-jitsu ace Dillon Danis. Gozali said he’s more than up for the challenge.
“Dillon Danis, come on, let’s do it,” Gozali said at the Bellator 249 post-fight show. “I’m going to (expletive) you up. It was another first-round (finish for me). I have five first-round (finishes). I want to keep it that way.”
Gozali had an active 2019 with three fights, but despite managing to only log in one fight this year so far, he’s in no hurry for a quick turnaround.
“I’m 19 years old, so I want to take my time to improve myself,” Gozali said. “I’m still a kid. I think I’m the youngest fighter in Bellator, so I’m going to take some time to improve myself.”
