Bellator 252 results: Yaroslav Amosov moves to 25-0, edges Logan Storley for split decision

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Yaroslav Amosov is still undefeated.

The Bellator welterweight contender pushed his unbeaten run to 25-0 after outpointing Logan Storley on Thursday night in a very competitive contest that ended in a split decision in favor of the Ukrainian.

The welterweight bout was part the Bellator 252 co-main event at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. It aired on CBS Sports Network/DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie.

The Amosov-Storley bout featured two unbeaten fighters, and it was as close as it gets. Both fighters saw plenty of success, but it was Amosov’s better striking that got the job done.

In the first round, Storley (11-1 MMA, 6-1 BMMA) pushed the action, immediately initiating the grappling and looking to take down Amosov (25-0 MMA, 6-0 BMMA). However, Amosov seemed to have an answer to Storley’s attacks, avoiding takedowns and any unfavorable positions. But due to Storley’s pressure and pace, Amosov spent a good amount of time defending and not much in an offensive move.

The second round was a similar story. Storley had some success with his wrestling but was unable to hold down Amosov for a long period of time. Instead, Amosov defended well and landed very solid shots on Storley.

Things got dicey for Amosov in the third as Storley turned up the volume and put Amosov in compromising positions and submission attacks. Storley was able to secure back mount multiple times and attack with a couple of rear-naked chokes that seemed to have Amosov on the brink of tapping out. To Amosov’s credit, he was able to hold out and get out of very tight submission attempts.

With this result, Storley lost his unbeaten record and Amosov extended his. Amosov’s decision win over Storley is now added to the list of notable names he’s defeated such as Ed Ruth, Erick Silva, and Gerald Harris.
