The year 2020 sure didn’t turn out the way anyone expected going in. But that meant we were all hit with a surprising group of mixed martial arts storylines.
Storylines such as:
- Conor McGregor’s successful return, and his plans for a “season” getting thwarted
- Stars like Jon Jones and Jorge Masvidal pushing back on the UFC’s pay structure
- Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement
- The UFC returning to action during the COVID-19 pandemic
- UFC starts retiring and others moving on to Bellator and the PFL
