Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier are never going to be friends. That much we can be quite certain of.
Six years after the first meeting between the two rivals, the bad blood still runs deep between Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) and Cormier (22-3 MMA, 11-3 UFC).
The pair competed for the first time on Jan. 3, 2015. Jones handed Cormier his first career loss in a unanimous decision to defend his light heavyweight title in the UFC 182 main event.
On the anniversary of that date, Jones reminder Cormier about his defeats not only to him, but also to heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, to whom he lost twice in their trilogy (via Twitter):
Stipe is your rival I’m your superior.

UFC 182 is the only official win Jones has over Cormier on his resume, but they did compete a second time. Jones knocked out Cormier with a head kick and punches at UFC 214 in July 2017, but the result was overturned to a no contest when Jones failed his post-fight drug test. “Bones” subsequently was stripped of the title.
Although the feud has somewhat fizzled in recent years, tension still exists. Cormier has transformed into a premier analyst for ESPN and UFC, and some of his opinions over time have rubbed Jones the wrong way, leading to the “hater” label.
