Bellator free fight: Romero Cotton chokes out Justin Sumter in Round 1
Still undefeated, Romero Cotton continues to make things look easy inside the Bellator cage.
Cotton (5-0 MMA, 5-0 BMMA) faced Justin Sumter in the main card of Bellator 254, which took place on Dec. 10 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
It didn’t take long for three-time NCAA Division II national champion wrestler Cotton to get the fight to the ground. After eating a couple of hard leg kicks, Cotton grabbed a hold of a lunging Sumter and took him down to the mat.
After raining down some hard ground and pound, Cotton was able to get Sumter’s back, using his strength to sink in a rear-naked choke without the hooks in.
