Triple Take: A case for new champions in each UFC 259 title fight

Saturday sees the UFC host its latest pay-per-view offering with three title fights atop a stacked fight card in Las Vegas.

In the UFC 259 main event, light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz will put his 205-pound title on the line for the first time against middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in a champion-versus-champion clash.

The co-main event has all-conquering two-division women’s champion Amanda Nunes against Australia’s Megan Anderson in a featherweight title defense.

And completing the title fight tripleheader is a battle for the bantamweight title when Russian champion Petr Yan looks to defend the 135-pound crown against American contender Aljamain Sterling.

With three title fights on deck, we asked our Triple Take panel of Farah Hannoun, Simon Head and Nolan King to make a case for one of the title challengers producing a career-defining performance to become a UFC champion – or in Adesanya’s case, a dual champ. Check out their takes below.

UFC 259 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.
