Terrance McKinney vs. Fares Ziam rebooked for UFC Fight Night on Feb. 26

Terrance McKinney vs. Fares Ziam is back on the UFC calendar.

The matchup has been rescheduled for Feb. 26, a UFC Fight Night event that does not currently have an official location or venue.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie following an announcement by Iridium Sports Agency, which manages McKinney (11-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC).

The bout between the two rising lightweights was originally scheduled for UFC Fight Night 198 on Nov. 20. The fighters went through training camp, fight week and weigh-ins, only to have the fight canceled hours prior to the event due to a positive COVID-19 test from one of McKinney’s cornermen.

The cancellation further delayed any attempt for McKinney to attempt to add to his UFC highlight reel, which currently consists of a seven-second knockout of Matt Frevola in his promotional debut in June. The victory extended his winning streak to four.

As for Ziam (12-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC), the French fighter has rebounded as of late. After a loss to Don Madge in his promotional debut, Fares won back-to-back decisions over Jamie Mullarkey and Luigi Vendramini.

With the addition, the UFC’s Feb. 26 lineup now includes:

  • Beneil Dariush vs. Islam Makhachev
  • Ignacio Bahamondes vs. Rong Zhu
  • Hannah Goldy vs. Jinh Yu Frey
  • Joel Alvarez vs. Arman Tsarukyan
  • Misha Cirkunov vs. Makhmud Muradov
  • Victor Altamirano vs. Carlos Hernandez
  • Terrance McKinney vs. Fares Ziam

At LFA 182, Kendra McIntyre did exactly that...

Anthony Smith knows he’s not currently in the title picture, but hopes he gets an opportunity to face Alex Pereira some day.
