Bobby Green rolled the dice by stepping up to fight Islam Makhachev on short notice in the UFC Fight Night 202 main event, but it did not pay off.
Green (29-13-1 MMA, 10-8-1 UFC) showed resistance to Makhachev (22-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) in the opening moments of the 160-pound catchweight fight at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, but within a few minutes he was taken down and battered into a first-round TKO.
After scoring a win at UFC 271 earlier this month, Green had a lot of moments and focus around him. Some of that luster was taken away with his defeat, but Green remains a fan favorite and likely still is poised for some exciting matchups in the lightweight division.
What should be next for Green? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on his future after UFC Fight Night 202.
