Video: Why Magomed Ankalaev might’ve hurt his UFC title-shot hopes despite win
It’s not often that a fighter is on an eight-fight winning streak, ranked in the top five and being discussed in a negative light. And yet, that’s where we’re at with Magomed Ankalaev coming out of UFC Fight Night 203.
On Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Ankalaev defeated former light heavyweight title challenger Thiago Santos by unanimous decision. Overall, it was a lackluster fight, but it was still a key win in the division.
Still, did Ankalaev somehow hurt his immediate title-shot hopes? That’s what we asked our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Nolan King, Danny Segura, and Brian “Goze” Garcia, who discussed the topic with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia.
