Video: Khamzat Chimaev, Gilbert Burns verbally spar at UFC 273 pre-fight press conference
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Khamzat Chimaev was amped up at the UFC 273 press conference as he shared a stage with Gilbert Burns for the first time ahead of Saturday’s highly anticipated featured bout.
Chimaev (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) busted out his classic lines as he exchanged words with Burns (11-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) on the dais, promising to “smash” and “kill” his upcoming opponent ahead of their clash at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.
Although both men said there are no personal elements to the fight, they are both driven to achieve victory and made that clear to one another. Chimaev claimed he would finish the job inside one minute, while Burns said he would do whatever it takes to get the job done and would “end the hype” around his undefeated foe in the welterweight bout.
