The UFC 281 feature bout is a banger in the lightweight division between former interim champion Dustin Poirier and former title challenger Michael Chandler.
On paper, the fight promises to be one of the most exciting of the stacked pay-per-view event at Madison Square Garden. But beyond what Chandler and Poirier are capable of doing inside the cage, what does this fight do for the winner?
Poirier has held a piece of the lightweight title, claiming interim status by defeating Max Holloway at UFC 236. Chandler had his shot at gold in just his second UFC appearance against Charles Oliveira at UFC 262.

With an impressive finish by either man, is it possible we see a change in plans for the next lightweight title bout?
