Alex Pereira achieved the first defense in his light heavyweight title reign Saturday when he knocked out Jamahal Hill in the UFC 300 main event.
After failing to retain gold in his run at middleweight champ, Pereira (10-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) established himself at 205 pounds with a first-round finish of Hill (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Pereira said post-fight he would accept any matchup offered by the UFC brass, and threw out the idea of moving up to heavyweight. There’s contenders waiting in his division, too, though, such as Magomed Ankalaev and Jiri Prochazka.
What’s the best move for Pereira going forward? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on his future after UFC 300.
