Hakeem Dawodu picked up his third consecutive UFC victory on Saturday when he put away Yoshinori Horie in the final round of their featherweight bout at UFC 240.
After struggling over the first 10 minutes, Dawodu (10-1-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) seemingly sensed he was behind on the scorecard against octagon newcomer Horie (8-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and decided to turn up the heat.
That strategy worked, because he simply overwhelmed his opponent in the striking realm before going upstairs with a head kick that ended the fight.

UFC 240 went down at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+/UFC Fight Pass.
After dropping his UFC debut in March 2018, Dawodu has won his past three, with his win over Horie being his first finish under the promotion’s banner.
