Anthony Pettis suffered yet another in-fight injury on Saturday in his loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 241.
Pettis (22-9 MMA, 9-8 UFC), the former UFC lightweight champion, sustained a broken right foot in his unanimous decision loss to Diaz (20-11 MMA, 15-9 UFC), but managed to endure the pain for the majority of the fight and make it to the final bell.
A member of Pettis’ team confirmed the injury to MMA Junkie, and believed it occurred in the first or second round when one of his low kicks was checked by Diaz.
“Showtime” shared a photo of his foot in the immediate aftermath of the contest, and on Sunday posted a photo of himself in a wheelchair with the foot wrapped up in bandages (via Instagram):

The exact severity of Pettis’ foot injury remains unknown, and it remains to be seen if he will require surgery to repair the damage.
Pettis is no strange to leaving the octagon hurt, though. Just three fights ago against Tony Ferguson at UFC 229, Pettis broke his hand in the midst of the action and his corner opted to wave the fight off.
The defeat to Diaz dropped Pettis to 1-1 since he moved up to welterweight in March. He knocked out former title challenger Stephen Thompson in his divisional debut at UFC on ESPN+ 5.
