UFC 245 video: Colby Covington reveals fight spoilers after final Kamaru Usman faceoff

LAS VEGAS – The pre-fight hype between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington is officially in the books as the fighters came face-to-face one last time on Friday at UFC 245 ceremonial weigh-ins.

After making weight on Friday morning, Usman (15-1 MMA, 10-0 UFC) and Covington (15-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) had a final staredown ahead of their welterweight championship bout, which headlines Saturday’s card at T-Mobile Arena. It airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2 and ESPN+/UFC Fight Pass.

All things considered, the staredown between Usman and Covington was tame. “Chaos” followed with one final promo during his interview with Joe Rogan, kicking a basketball into the crowd as a metaphor for Usman’s head as he was showered with boos by the crowd.

“Las Vegas, this is how you treat a winner? This is how you treat a champion? No wonder the Oakland Raiders are going to come here, they’re going to fit in right with the rest of you losers,” Covington said. “Marty Fakenewsman. The end of your time is now over, buddy. Because I’m the king of spoilers, this is what’s going to happen tomorrow night: You see Marty Fakenewsman’s ugly mug? I’m going to bounce it off the canvas, and I’m going to kick it into the third row and maybe one of you lucky virgins will be able to catch it and be able to take it home with you. Tune in tomorrow night, only on pay-per-view.”

Usman responded, but it was with a smile and only a few words.

“For the longest of times the whole world has wasn’t that man’s assassination, and tomorrow night I get to be the guy to drill the nails in the coffin,” Usman told Rogan. “Tune in.
