Eddie Hearn has risen to prominence in the world of boxing promotion, in large part, by being what other guardians of the sweet science are not: The Matchroom Boxing chief is an out-of-the-box, bold thinker who isn’t afraid to try things different than the peers.
Sometimes he misses, but more often than not, his events hit big. Sounds like someone else we can think of.
UFC president Dana White, after all, helped bring his company to mainstream prominence in the ’00s by doing all sorts of things a tired boxing game refused to do. If you don’t think the UFC’s success helped shake boxing of its lethargy, you’re kidding yourself.
So maybe it’s not all the much of a surprise to hear Hearn playfully call himself a White ripoff as he goes a little overboard selling Matchroom’s upcoming Feb. 29 event in Frisco, Texas.
“I’ve seen Dana White doing it, and I’m just completely copying his idea,” Hearn says at the top of the video. “In fact, I do look a little bit like Dana White, but with hair.”
Hearn proceeds to lay it on thick in what we have to admit is a pretty good card, headlined by a clash between former champs Mikey Garcia and Jesse Vargas. If you want to check it out, the card streams on DAZN on Saturday night. And to see his White imitation, watch the video above.

Fighters interact with fans, each other and many more through the likes of X, Facebook and Instagram, which...
