UFC on ESPN+ 30 will be headlined by two heavyweights with serious fight-ending abilities.
Former UFC heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem will look to rebound when he takes on the streaking Walt Harris in the UFC on ESPN+ 30 main event on April 11, at Moda Center in Portland, Ore.
The two were scheduled to headline UFC on ESPN 7 this past December in Washington, D.C., but Harris withdrew from the fight after the disappearance of his stepdaughter, Aniah Blanchard, who was later found murdered after a one-month search.
Harris (13-7 MMA, 6-6 UFC) was replaced by undefeated prospect Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who picked up a Hail Mary, come-from-behind knockout over Overeem (45-17 MMA, 10-6 UFC) in a fight that he was en route to losing. The loss snapped Overeem’s two-fight winning streak.
Harris has won three in a row over Daniel Spitz, Serghei Spivac and, most recently, a 12-second “Performance of the Night” knockout over Aleksei Oleinik. All 13 of his pro wins have come by knockout.
Also featured on the poster is a women’s strawweight matchup between former inaugural UFC 115-pound champion Carla Esparza (15-6 MMA, 6-4 UFC) and Michelle Waterson (17-7 MMA, 5-3 UFC). Esparza will look to make it three in a row. Waterson will look to get back in the win column after seeing her three-fight winning streak snapped by Joanna Jedrzejczyk this past October.
