NORFOLK, Va. – Marcin Tybura beat Serghei Spivac with a unanimous decision Saturday on the preliminary card at UFC on ESPN+ 27 in Norfolk, Va.
Take a look inside the fight with Tybura, who had been on a two-fight slide and had dropped four of his past five.
Result: Marcin Tybura def. Serghei Spivac via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
Updated records: Tybura (18-6 MMA, 5-5 UFC), Spivac (10-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC)
Key stat: Tybura won the striking game 60-40 and landed a pair of takedowns.
“The plan coming in was good. It was basically what happened. I wanted to avoid more punches and I received maybe too many at the beginning. It was a slow start, but then I started reacting properly.”
“(It) feels great to get a win again. I’ve been working very hard over the last couple of months for this, so I’m happy to come out with a win – especially after my last two fights. I really needed this, so I am happy. There was a lot of pressure on me and I was hoping to finish it, but I’ll take it.”
“There are for sure things I need to work on, but I have a great new camp at Syndicate and I look forward to improving. I want to get back to where I was before in the rankings and make another run.”
