Chan Sung Jung manager: Police report filed after alleged Brian Ortega slap at UFC 248

LAS VEGAS – At Saturday’s UFC 248 post-fight news conference, Dana White was hopeful no legal action would ensue after the reported scuffle between Brian Ortega and Jay Park, the well-known Korean rapper and close friend of “The Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung.

But according to Jung’s manager, Iridium Sports Agency’s Jason House, a police report was filed following the alleged incident. In a statement to MMA Junkie on Sunday, House said UFC officials specifically told both parties to behave themselves during the event. Only one team obliged, House said. He praised his client’s class in dealing with the issue.

“Both teams were contacted prior to last night’s event and were asked by the UFC to be respectful and to not have any confrontations,” House wrote. “Our team respected the UFC’s request and maintained our professionalism throughout the night. Police reports were filed immediately after the incident occurred and now it’s a matter for law enforcement officials to handle. Korean Zombie has always been a class act and will continue to be. Our objective remains the same; to put ourselves in the best position both inside and outside the cage to become the featherweight champion this year.”

According to an eyewitness who contacted MMA Junkie during Saturday’s co-main event, the altercation occurred when Ortega allegedly approached Park and slapped him. The alleged incident happened while Jung was in the restroom. Ortega was escorted out of the arena.

UFC 248 took place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
