LAS VEGAS – Sabina Mazo continues to show new wrinkles in her game as she climbs up the flyweight ranks.
Former LFA 125-pound champ Mazo (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) suffered her first pro loss in her UFC debut, but was able to rebound with back-to-back wins over Shana Dobson and, most recently, J.J. Aldrich at UFC 246.
“I think it’s been a great year of experience since my first UFC fight – the loss I had – and the two victories,” Mazo said at a Dominance MMA media day in Las Vegas earlier this month. “I feel it changed my game. Training out of Kings MMA in California, Mazo hopes to land on the upcoming UFC on ESPN+ 33 card in San Diego.
“Well, (I want to fight) as soon as possible to be honest,” Mazo said. “I’ve been training, so I was looking actually for the card on May 16 in San Diego. So if I can get on that one, or soon, I think I’ll get it.”
