Magomed Magomedov has a new opponent for Bellator 255.
The former ACB champion and current Bellator bantamweight will take on promotional newcomer Cee Jay Hamilton on the April 2 preliminary card, which takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
Also added to the card is Mukhamad Berkhamov (14-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) vs. Herman Terrado (15-5 MMA, 0-1-1 BMMA) at welterweight and Fabio Aguiar (17-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) vs. Khalid Murtazaliev (14-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) at middleweight.
People with knowledge of the matchups confirmed the bookings to MMA Junkie on Tuesday following an initial report by Cageside Press.
Hamilton (15-7 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), who fills in for Jared Scoggins, has signed a multifight deal with Bellator, according to manager Oren Hodak. A Dana White’s Contender Series Season 1 alum, Hamilton enters Bellator 255 having won three of his most recent four.
Magomedov, 29, made his promotional debut in December when he defeated Matheus Mattos by unanimous decision at Bellator 254. The victory extended Magomedov’s winning streak to four. He has not lost a fight since a April 2017 loss to former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan.
With the change, the Bellator 255 lineup includes:
The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday’s card, rewarding four main card stoppages. After UFC on ESPN 55, four fighters took home an extra $50,000 for their performances at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out the winners below.
