LAS VEGAS – Lando Vannata knows Charles Jourdain will bring the fight to him at UFC Fight Night 205.
In what will be his second bout since dropping down to featherweight, Vannata (12-5-2 MMA, 4-5-2 UFC) faces Jourdain (12-4-1 MMA, 3-3-1 UFC) on Saturday’s card, which streams on ESPN+ from the UFC Apex.
Vannata, who competed at lightweight for the majority of his career, eventually realized that 145 pounds is the right fit for him. He’s enjoying the matchmaking in his new division, and is ready to match Jourdain’s intensity in the octagon.
“He’s aggressive, good counter shots, good kicks,” Vannata told MMA Junkie at UFC Fight Night 205 media day on Wednesday. “I just expect him to bring a fight. I think he’s got Odin or some viking tattooed on his throat so it’s like, the dude is coming to bang, and I’ll meet him right there in the center.
“I just honestly believe that I am much better, more complete striker, wrestler, grappler, fighter, mentally, physically. I’m gonna show up, I’m gonna perform and that’s it.”

McGregor hasn’t competed...
LAS VEGAS – Karine Silva has heard the praise. Even though the narratives are largely complementary, Silva (17-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) admits her run toward UFC notoriety isn’t as quick and effortless as it may seem. “It wasn’t quick, guys. It wasn’t fast,” Silva told MMA Junkie and other...
