Michael Trizano is fed up with his fights going the distance.
At UFC Fight Night 207, the champion of The Ultimate Fighter 27 steps inside the cage against the debuting Lucas Almeida on the main card. The event takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, where Trizano (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has fought his two previous fights with mixed results. While the judges saw one of those fights his way and the other for his opponent, this time around, he’s looking to leave the scorecards out of it.
“I want to win, bottom line,” Trizano told reporters at Wednesday’s media day. “However it happens, I want a finish. I’m sick and tired of these decisions, but you never know what’s gonna happen in there. Again, it comes down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. I’m gonna go in there, pick up the volume, and do my thing.”
Last May, Trizano defeated Ludovit Klein by unanimous decision to get back in the win column after a loss to Grant Dawson. The momentum of his win was halted by Hakeem Dawodu, dropping a unanimous decision in February.
His opponent Almeida (13-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) said he’s looking to “win and convince” on Saturday, which could result in fireworks between two fighters who do not want the fight to see the final horn.
