The rise of Ciryl Gane as a UFC heavyweight title contender continued on Saturday with another stellar showcase in the UFC Fight Night 190 main event.
Although Gane (9-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) was unable to finish opponent Alexander Volkov (33-9 MMA, 7-3 UFC), his lopsided unanimous decision win at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas showed that the depth of his skill set is increasing, and he has the tools to become champion.
For someone who has only been a professional fighter since August 2018, Gane’s run to prominence is nothing short of mind-blowing, and it would very compelling to see if he could get his hands on the belt if given the opportunity.
