Just as soon as the welterweight fight between Mickey Gall and Alex Oliveira was set, the fight is off.
The UFC announced late Friday night that the matchup, which was set for UFC on ESPN+ 27 on Feb. 29 in Norfolk, Va., has been canceled.
No reason was given for the fight getting pulled from the card, although the company did say there will not be a replacement fight made, leaving both competitors in limbo for the time being.
Gall (6-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) last fought at UFC on ESPN 5 in August, where he defeated Salim Touahri. While he was looking to stay active, he’s now had both the Oliveira fight and a bout booked for UFC on ESPN 7 with Carlos Condit fall through.
Oliveira (19-8-1 MMA, 9-6 UFC) last competed at UFC on ESPN+ 18, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Nicolas Dalby for his third straight defeat.
