Oh look, Conor McGregor ‘called out’ Vince McMahon

Conor McGregor is no stranger to trolling WWE stars, so why not also jab at the boss?

The former UFC two-division champion has issued a callout of sorts to WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon on his Instagram stories.

For his callout, McGregor used this graphic posted by his website, The Mac Life, of him holding both a UFC belt and the WWE championship over his shoulders:

Adding to it, McGregor included the text “McMahon Vs McGregor CEO Flashmatch” and also tagged WWE executive Stephanie McMahon, Vince’s daughter.

Is he being serious? Is he not being serious? Eh.

McGregor, like other fighters, has flirted with the idea of crossing over to WWE, which makes sense given his UFC stardom can be credited, at least in part, to his work on the mic through the years. Also, McGregor copied McMahon’s “billionaire strut” and made it his own.

In 2016, McGregor took shots at WWE, saying he would “slap the head off” the entire roster. Then in 2017, he said he was in talks to make an appearance at WrestleMania.

In 2018, McGregor fought just once, getting choked out by lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 after he was arrested earlier in the year for attacking a fighter bus with Nurmagomedov on it. In 2019, McGregor didn’t compete while he simultaneously focused on his Proper Twelve whiskey business and found himself in trouble with the law on multiple occasions, not the least of which included two separate allegations of sexual assault in Ireland.

In 2020, McGregor returned to the octagon at UFC 246, where he finished Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds of their welterweight bout. And now he’s retired (allegedly).

That or he wants to have some fun in WWE. Or he wants to fight again. It’s hard to tell.
