Sadibou Sy outkicks Dilano Taylor for $1 million PFL welterweight title
It might not go down as the most highlight-worthy win of his career, but for Sadibou Sy it likely will be the most memorable.
Sy (13-6-2) outworked Dilano Taylor (10-3) over 25 minutes to win the PFL 2022 welterweight season and $1 million. Sy took 49-46 scores from all three judges. It was the first time in his career he was in a fight that went past the third round.
Sy was a modest favorite going into the fight and used his height and reach advantage to stay just on the other end of Taylor’s counterpunches. It was the kicking game that paid off the most for Sy, who went a perfect 4-0 in 2022 with four decision wins to take the title.
The 2022 PFL finals took place Friday at Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York.
