Alonzo Menifield has his first official submission win in the UFC.
The light heavyweight submitted Fabio Cherant with a Von Flue choke to close out the preliminary card of Saturday’s UFC 260 event in Las Vegas. The stoppage came at the 1:11 mark of Round 1.
It was a quick and easy performance by Menifield (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC).
He closed the distance early and pressed Cherant against the cage. From there, Cherant attempted a guillotine choke that set up the Von Flue choke. Menifield took down Cherant, gained side control, and locked up the choke to finish the fight seconds later.

Ruziboev (34-8-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) drops back down to welterweight to face Joaquin Buckley (18-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 56 (ESPN/ESPN+) co-headliner at Enterprise Center in...
