SINGAPORE – Jake Matthews showed his best form to date inside the octagon on Saturday when he scored an absolutely brutal knockout of Andre Fialho at UFC 275.
In his first fight since March 2021, Matthews (17-5 MMA, 11-5 UFC) looked extremely sharp engaging in an all-out slugfest with Fialho (16-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC), who came into the contest with a lot of momentum on his side with his third fight in 46 days.
Matthews brought that momentum to a screeching halt, however, when he landed a flurry of punches to end a damage-heavy affair with Fialho at the 2:24 mark of Round 2 inside Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Despite being just 27 years old, Matthews already has been part of the UFC roster since 2014. He’s 7-2 since he moved up to welterweight from the lightweight division in November 2017 and said now is his time to start making a run.
“Everything you’ve seen from me inside the octagon to this point is 50 percent of Jake Matthews,” Matthews told Daniel Cormier in his post-fight interview. “So get used to seeing that.”
