UFC Fight Night 125 play-by-play and live results

Join us for live play-by-play and official results for UFC Fight Night 125 beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. PT).

The event takes place at Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Para, Brazil. The card airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (22-8 MMA, 14-8 UFC) fights in front of his home fans against unbeaten former college football standout Eryk Anders (10-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC).

Maia Stevenson vs. Polyana Viana

Round 1 – Stevenson in early with punching combination and catches Viana early. They clinch, but Viana tosses Stevenson with a judo throw. Stevenson rights herself and nabs her own takedown. Viana locks up a shoulder and sets up for an armbar. Stevenson scooting to avoid the hold. She gets out the back door, but Viana still has the arm. Viana extends the arm, but doesn’t fully have it locked, and Stevenson escapes. Driving back to her feet, Stevenson works for a takedown, and Viana wraps the neck. Cranking it, she keeps Stevenson at bay against the fence as the round hits the midway point. Viana uses the hold to bully Stevenson to the mat, landing on top. Punches overhead. Stevenson struggling, cut badly on her face. Viana mounts, and Stevenson gives up her back. The choke is on almost before they settle into back control. Stevenson taps, and that’s a wrap.

Iuri Alcantara vs. Joe Soto

Round 1 – Soto active circling right away. Alcantara closing, looking for opportunities to catch him. Body kick good early. Soto lands a right and shoots in for a takedown. Nothing there. A body kick sends Soto backward, and Alcantara is all over him. Swarming against the cage, Alcantara unleashes a flurry of punches, and Soto goes out in the midst of them, dropping to his butt. The referee appears to hesitate in stopping the fight, and Soto tries to grab a leg for a desperate sweep as Alcantara continues to pound. Soto’s back hits and deck, and Maia finally calls it. Fight is over, and Alcantara picks up an impressive first-round finish.

Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Joseph Morales

Round 1 – The two eye each other warily before Figueiredo misses on a spinning kick and then clinches for a takedown attempt. Easy transition, and the Brazilian is working from half-guard. Morales trying to control the arms and fails on a sweep attempt. Figueiredo scoots them toward fence, and Morales takes a punch from the bottom. He bicycles and somersaults but winds up on his back again as Figueiredo throws down huge hammerfists. Most miss, but the crowd loves it. Morales bicycles against fence again and gets warned for putting his hands in the cage to push off. Figueiredo still working shots from the top. Morales ties up the head. Less than two minutes to go. So far, smooth sailing for Figueiredo. Morales spins using the cage and tries to escape. Herdy hasn’t seen enough action and stands them up. Figueiredo takes a huge punch as he kicks lazily. Figueiredo grabs the neck and tries to close out on a choke. Not much time to work, and position isn’t there. Morales escapes only to take a flurry of hammerfists at the bell. MMAjunkie scores the opening frame 10-9 for Figueiredo.

Round 2 – Figueiredo switches stances as Morales closes. Another stiff jab off for Figueiredo. He charges in again and fires off left hands, but Morales’ guard is good. Figueiredo aggressive early. Morales not pulling the trigger yet. On his first big punch, Figueiredo ducks under and winds up on top as the two spill to the canvas. We’re back to where we were in the first round, with Figueiredo on top and Morales looking to it tied things up. Figueiredo goes to work with ground and pound, but his work rate isn’t very high. Figueiredo postures as Morales bicycles and again draws a slap from Herdy as he grabs the fence. Morales gets up and narrowly avoids punches. Morales closing, looking to make something happen. Big body kick from Figueiredo. First big right hand for Morales, but Figueiredo is unshaken and presses forward with a counter-charge. Morales goes back to his kicks. Figueiredo initiates a clinch and takes a knee before they break. Left hook drops Morales, and he’s in deep trouble as Figueiredo pounds away. With no improvement in position, Herdy steps in to call it off, and we have our first stoppage of the night.
