Chris Daukaus thwarted Aleksei Oleinik’s grappling attempts at UFC Fight Night 185, and it set up a quick win for him.
Daukaus (11-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) earned a third consecutive first-round finish to start his UFC tenure Saturday when he landed heavy shots on Oleinik (59-15-1 MMA, 8-6 UFC) to force a standing TKO stoppage.
The Philadelphia-based police officer had talked prior to the event about putting together a run that would warrant a full-time move to fighting, and he took another step forward with the big win in the heavyweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
