UFC on ESPN 11 play-by-play and live results

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie is on scene and reporting live from Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 11 event, and you can join us for live play-by-play and official results beginning at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT).

The event takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card airs on ESPN and streams on ESPN+.

In the main event, Curtis Blaydes (13-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) takes on Alexander Volkov (31-7 MMA, 5-1 UFC) at heavyweight. In the co-feature, Shane Burgos (13-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) meets Josh Emmett (15-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) at featherweight.

Current fight

Curtis Blaydes vs. Alexander Volkov

Round 1 – Blaydes wastes little time implementing his gameplan, dropping down and grabbing a single and driving Volkov to the canvas. Volkov working hard to get back to his feet. Blaydes stays heavy and keeps hold of his massive opponent. Volkov gets to a knee, and Blaydes is trying to slip to the back. Volkov’s right side is against the cage, so Blaydes can’t quite get the fully dominant position. Blaydes with knees to the body and legs. He throws a few punches, as well. Volkov tries to stand, but Blaydes wraps him up and slams him down again. Volkov again to his knees, and he’s defending well from there, but he’s got absolutely nothing in terms of offense. Blaydes adjusts his weight and drives Volkov’s head to the canvas. Volkov recovers and is again on a knee. Round ends. Positional domination by Blaydes. MMA Junkie gives it to him, 10-9.

Round 2 – Blaydes comes out winging big punches. Volkov a little surprised but swings back. Blaydes with a nice right hand that lands clean. He chops the legs a little. Volkov a little hesitant to engage, knowing the takedown is coming. It does, and Blaydes is able to drive through and take the action to the canvas. Volkov to a knee and then stands. He’s got his back to the cage. Blaydes has the body wrapped, and he’s able to sweep Volkov to the floor. Volkov get guard. Blaydes happy to settle on top. Volkov with the closed guard and hoping to hold things tight underneath. He’s trying to land a few short elbows underneath. Blaydes patient but finally postures and drives in a few big punches. He’s trying to frame and capitalize, but Volkov pushes him away with seconds remaining and returns to the feet. One more takedown from Blaydes at the horn. MMA Junkie gives it again to Blaydes, 10-9.

Round 3 – Blaydes with a right hand that lands. He kicks the lead leg. Volkov trying to take advantage of these brief exchanges, but he knows what’s coming. Blaydes does drive forward, but Volkov able to retreat to the cage and stay upright. Volkov with a kick to the body. Blaydes charges forward, but Volkov able to drive in underhooks and stay upright. A second effort gets Volkov to his knees. Blaydes steps over his opponent’s left leg and is looking to pull him away from the fence. Referee Herb Dean calls for action as it stalls a bit in that position. Volkov briefly controls the neck, but Blaydes adjusts his positioning and is able to pull free. Blaydes now steps over the right leg as Volkov works from a seated position. As Volkov tries to stand, Blaydes is able to sneak around to the back, so Volkov has to turn inside. Back to that same seated position for Volkov. He stands with 20 seconds left and is able to pull free. Volkov complains of an eye poke after a quick exchange, but we fight on. Blaydes with a shot at the end, but the horn sounds before he can complete it. MMA Junkie gives it again to Blaydes, 10-9.

Round 4 – Volkov with a front kick. Blaydes wastes no time getting inside and slipping around to the back, wrapping the waist and driving the action to the canvas. Volkov works his way up and is trying to get some space. Blaydes relentless with his bodylock. Volkov able to resist, and Blaydes separates. They trade jabs, and then Blaydes changes levels and drives the action to the cage. Volkov defends well, and they reset in the center. Big left from Blaydes. Volkov wants to strike, but Blaydes slips under and gets another easy takedown. Volkov forced to pull guard. He works a closed guard. and tries to control the head. Dean again calling for action and warning of a stand-up. Blaydes trying to posture. He lands a couple of short punches, but Volkov is trying to keep things tied up for a reset. Volkov with a few elbows from the bottom. Volkov breaks the guard, and his corner calls for him to pass. Not there, and Volkov goes back to a closed guard. Dean stands them. Volkov lands a nice right hand. Volkov now turns for the takedown. It takes a second effort, but he does get it to the floor. Volkov lands a few punches there. Probably not enough to steal the round, though. MMA Junkie gives it to Blaydes, 10-9.

Austin Hubbard vs. Max Rohskopf

Round 1 – Early low kick from Hubbard. Rohskopf with a side kick from southpaw and then switches stances and kicks the legs. Both men patiently looking for options early. Rohskopf continually switching stances and fires a big right hand. He shoots in deep on a single from range. He gets the leg high but doesn’t get the takedown. He narrowly avoids a big knee before adjusting and getting the body wrapped. He lifts and slams the action to the floor. Nice sweep from Hubbard, and he’s on the back. They scramble to the feet. Rohskopf quickly back inside and looking to attack the leg. Hubbard defending and trying to punch as he turns to defend. Rohskopf has control of both legs fro the moment. He turns to the heel, but Hubbard is able to spin free and get back to his feet. Ninety seconds left. Rohskopf kicks the body but eats a left hand counter. Rohskopf with a right. Hubbard just misses a big uppercut. Low kicks traded. Hubbard with a combination and lands a clean right. Spinning kick misses for Rohskopf at the bell. MMA Junkie gives the first to Rohskopf, 10-9.

Round 2 – Imanari roll from Rohskopf to start, and he gets in on the leg. He gets Hubbard off balance and to the floor. Rohskopf backs away and lets Hubbard to his knees. Rohskopf attacks the head. He wants the guillotine from the top, but Hubbard is able to last through it and pop free, and they scramble back to the feet. Hubbard with a nice right hand up top. Rohskopf’s face busted up a bit. Right hand has been causing some damage around the left eye. Rohskopf switching stances. Hubbard lands to the groin, but we fight on. Jab lands fro Hubbard. He kicks the legs a bit and lands another right hand. Rohskopf tries to punch his way into a takedown, but it’s not there. Hubbard with another big right. Rohskopf slowing a bit. Left hand for Hubbard. Jab scores. Rohskopf is tired. Less than two minutes. Big right hand for Hubbard. Uppercut scores. Blood trickling down from Rohskopf’s left eye now. Hubbard picking him apart with punches, and he’s adding in low kicks, as well. Rohskopf trying to press a bit in the final minute, but he’s clearly tired. Hubbard goes to the body. He’s patiently finding his targets. Hubbard digs to the body to close. MMA Junkie gives it to Hubbard, 10-9.

Round 3 – Doctor comes to check out Rohskopf to start the round, and the fight is waved off before we open.

Roxanne Modafferi vs. Lauren Murphy

Round 1 – Murphy with an early low kick that lands. Modafferi with her hands high and looking to press. She lands a kick to the body. Murphy moving well and lands to the legs. Modafferi punches her way into the clinch and presses the action to the cage. Murphy overhooks the right side and tries to frame with the left. Forearm across the face for Murphy, but Modafferi continues pressing and is looking for a trip. Not there, and Murphy escapes to the center. Murphy with a right hand and a kick to the legs. Modafferi charges forward with punches, but Murphy slips to the side. Jabs traded. One minute left. Murphy with a clean right hand that stuns Modafferi briefly. She throws a high kick that’s blocked. Modafferi lets a few punches fly, but Murphy answers. Murphy with a right to close. MMA Junkie gives the first to Murphy, 10-9.

Round 2 – Modafferi takes the center and is looking to press forward. Murphy doing well to escape laterally and counter. Modafferi staggered. Murphy with a big right hand. She’s looking to press, but Modafferi digs in and scores a counters with a right. Modafferi now the one moving forward again. Murphy still slipping and answering well. Murphy with a step-in knee, but Modafferi right a right hand over the top. Modafferi again able to press into the clinch and drive it to the fence. Modafferi trying to change levels, but Murphy digging in underhooks and defending well. Two minutes left. Murphy presses off the fence, and she’s able to get Modafferi off-balance. Modafferi pops up, but Murphy wraps the body and drives the action to the floor. She slips around to the back, but she’s too high, and she starts to slip off. Modafferi briefly on top, but Murphy scrambles up as she loses position. Modafferi again pressing in from the outside. She gets a late takedown, but Murphy with the whizzer and scrambles back to the feet. Round ends in the clinch, and MMA Junkie gives it to Modafferi, 10-9.

Round 3 – Modafferi to the center and looking to move inside. She kicks the legs and then lands a right hand. Low kick from Murphy. Modafferi with a nice right hand over the top. Modafferi trying to press, but Murphy with a crisp right hand in return. Her counters are well-timed. Modafferi walking threw her opponent’s punches and gets inside once again. She’s inside on a single. She switches to a double, but Murphy’s balance is up to the challenge. Modafferi back up top and wraps the body. She tries for a trip. Not there. Murphy defending well against the fence, and Modafferi finally backs away. Two minutes left. Right hand scores from Modafferi. She’s relentless moving forward, but Murphy continues to time the counter. Low kick lands for Murphy. Modafferi continues to find a jab, but Murphy answering every time. Less than a minute. More punches exchanged. Modafferi starting them, but Murphy finishing them. Murphy with a perfect takedown to close. She ends up on top. Modafferi tries to break the guard and look for something to close, but it’s not there. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Murphy, 10-9, awarding her the fight 30-27.

Frank Camacho vs. Justin Jaynes

Round 1 – Camacho with an early jab. Jaynes not wasting any time looking to throw. He walks forward with punches, but Camacho moving well asd looking to counter. Jaynes relentless. He lands and sends Camacho to the floor with a big left hand. Punches follow. Camacho crawls back up, but Jaynes isn’t done. More punches coming, and Camacho is hurt against the cage. Punches not stopping, and referee Herb Dean calls off the fight. Fun debut for Jaynes on short notice.

Cortney Casey vs. Gillian Robertson

Round 1 – Robertson with a few testing low kicks to start as she walks forward. Casey moving laterally on the outside and fires a big right hand. Another finds a home. Robertson changes levels and rushes forward, driving the action to the canvas with relative ease. Casey trying to work to guard, but Robertson has passed the right leg. Robertson controlling the head but lets go to lift up and posture. Robertson trying to advance, but Casey keeping her tied up underneath. Still, Robertson is on top and racking up riding time. Couple of short punches landing from the top, but nothing of real significance. Casey holding that half-guard. She briefly turns to her knees but doesn’t want to expose the back and quickly rolls back down to a butterfly guard. Casey doing a great job of defense from her back, but she’s not getting anything going of her own. Robertson does get to side control at the horn, but there’s no time to capitalize. MMA Junkie gives the first to Robertson, 10-9.

Round 2 – Casey with a nice low kick to open. Big flurry from Casey, and she lands a right hand and crisp uppercut. Robertson doesn’t want any more of that, so she changes levels and is again able to get the takedown with relative ease. Casey with guard, but her head is against the fence, so it’s not a particularly comfortable spot. Robertson postures and breaks the guard, and Casey spins inverted and looks for the arm. It’s not there, and Robertson looks to pass the legs. Casey scrambles back to half-guard, and Robertson controls the head from the top. Casey trying to buck and roll. Robertson now getting in a few punches that have some power. Casey again looking to create some space, but Robertson doing well to keep her pinned to the canvas. Robertson trying to set up the arm-triangle choke. Casey looking to press down with her left arm to stay safe. Robertson has to let it go as Casey spins. More punches from Robertson. Elbow at the bell. MMA Junkie gives it again to Robertson, 10-9.

Round 3 – Casey needs to make something happen on the feet. She’s punching early and looking to move laterally. Robertson holding the center and looking for an opportunity to move inside. Casey letting her hands go, and she kicks at the legs, as well. Big right hands, and Robertson’s corner asking for her to keep the head moving. Casey sitting down on her punches. Robertson changes levels, walking through punches to get there, and she does get the action to the canvas. Casey initially has the head trapped. As Robertson pulls it free, Casey turns to attack the arm. She’s got the limb and extends, but Robertson patient as she tries to find a way free. Tense moments, but Robertson does get her arm free and settle back on top. Casey with guard underneath. She’s throwing hammerfists from her back. Casey again looking for opportunities to shift her hips. Robertson heavy on top, so Casey is forced to punch away at the body. Into the final minute, and Casey turns and exposes her back. That’s all it takes. Robertson has the arm under the neck quickly, and the choke is in. Casey has to tap.

Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Oskar Piechota

Round 1 – Barriault takes the center and is looking to move forward with punches. Piechota moves well and lands a nice right hand. Barriault the aggressor, but Piechota slipping well to start. Nice low kick from Piechota. He’s sliding around on the outside and trying to avoid the Barriault bull rushes. Right hand scores for Barriault. Left lands, as well. Piechota shakes it off and resets. Barriault looks the more powerful man, and he’s loading up on punches. Piechota doing his best to slip and move. Piechota with a nice uppercut to right hand combo. Barriault walks through it and stars firing big punches once again. Both men winging punches. Barriault again with a right hand that lands. Piechota wearing it well, but these have to be taking their toll. High kick blocked from Piechota. Piechota looks for a takedown late, but it’s not there. Horn sounds, and MMA Junkie gives it to Barriault, 10-9.

Round 2 – Barriault with a nice right hand to open. He’s still aggressive to start. Piechota again moving well and looking to counter. He mixes in a few kicks, as well. Barriault holding the center and looking to tee up the big right hand. Piechota fires one of his own down the middle that lands clean. Barriault walks through it. He’s just looking to bully Piechota. Uppercut lands clean for Piechota. Barriault tries to drive in for the takedown. Piechota defends and looks to wrap the neck as he sits against the cage. Piechota can’t get it, so he scrambles up to his feet and scampers away. Barriault again aggressive on the restart. He punches his way forward and into a clinch, but nothing there. Barriault with a knee inside. Piechota with a clean jab, but Barriault comes back with power shots over the top. Barriault’s nose busted up a bit. Piechota’s jab has been clean. But Barriault the one landing the bigger shots. He wobbles Piechota with a big shot. Barriault sees it. He wants the finish. Piechota topples to the floor. Big hammerfists from the top, then straight punches land clean, and this fight is over.

Tecia Torres vs. Brianna Van Buren

Round 1 – Torres with an early kick to the body. She kicks low, and Van Buren catches it and closes the distance. Torres backs up to the cage and defends. Van Buren has the body wrapped. Torres working to stay up, but Van Buren finally kicks a leg out. Torres doesn’t stay on the floor, working immediately to her feet. Van Buren holding tight from the outside. She again trips Torres off-balance, but she can’t keep the action there. Still, Torres can’t get anything going, just being pressed against the cage. Van Buren finally lets go, firing an elbow as she backs to the center. Torres with a few punches before Van Buren again tries to drive the action to the fence. Torres able to switch to the outside. They battle for position before reaching a stalemate and resetting. Torres is punching when she has space. Van Buren tries to charge again. Torres able to spin off and press her to the fence. Short uppercuts inside, and Van Buren presses her away. Torres shoots to close, and they exchange knees inside. MMA Junkie leans toward Torres, 10-9.

Round 2 – Torres looking to strike while she has space. Beautiful kicks to all range. Van Buren tries to grab hold, but Torres slips away and tags her with a counter. Great start from Torres. Another high kick. Van Buren tries to close the distance, and Torres slips well, sneaking in a strike and resetting. Van Buren again works in tight, but Torres defends well in the clinch. Battle for position, and Van Buren eventually backs away. Torres rattles off a combination. She’s setting the tone right now. Spinning kick misses, but she follows up with a kick to the body that scores. Torres attacking from all angles. She’s wary of the takedown, but she’s finding her moments. Van Buren again tries to grab hold, but Torres shoves her away. Torres in a groove. Punches and kicks traded to close. Heck of a flurry. MMA Junkie gives it to Torres, 10-9.

Round 3 – Van Buren comes out looking to strike. She needs to make something happen. Torres right there to deal with it. She avoids the heavy shots and then comes back with slick combinations, including big kicks to finish. Big kick to the body from Torres. Push kick to the fence. Torres absolutely feeling it right now. Van Buren changes levels and gets in deep on a single. Torres pushes the head down and sprawls against the cage. She sprawls out to break the grip and then fires a knee inside. Van Buren relentless with her takedown effort, but Torres with a perfect whizzer to pop right back up. She finally pulls away with about 90 seconds left. Van Buren just hasn’t been able to get anything going. Torres with a deep breath and then fires off punches and again kicks to the body. Van Buren needs a takedown, but Torres defends until the end, sneaking in punches along the way. Great performance from her. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Torres, 10-9, and awards her the fight, 30-27.

Bobby Green vs. Clay Guida

Round 1 – Guida with his high-energy style, bouncing and moving. Green with his hands low, looking to pick his punches. Green dives from range and gets inside. He’s in on the single and lifts Green in the air before slamming him to the canvas. Green pops right back to his feet. He’s trying to use the cage to peel Guida off. Green turns, and Guida changes levels. Green grabs the neck, and Guida has to spin and drop to the canvas. Still, he scrambles away quickly. Back on the feet, and Green looking to strike. He lands a kick to the body. Guida trying to get inside. Green high kick blocked. Guida with a nice low kick, and they’re talking to each other a bit. Green wags his chin and lands a jab. Guida pops him with a. right hand. Green stomping at the legs as Guida moves forward. Green accurate with punches, but Guida answers them with flurries. Guida inside again, and he lifts and slams the action to the canvas. Green back to his feet quickly. Kimura grip as he defends against the fence. Guida safe, so he keeps pressing. Clinch battle against the cage to close. MMA Junkie gives the first to Guida, 10-9.

Round 2 – Green crisp with his punches, but Guida chops at the legs. Nice left hand from Green. Leaping knee scores, and he slips free from a takedown. Green again with his hands down, looking to strike. Guida changes levels, but Green able to push him away. Green with a few knees inside that land clean. He’s working well from the clinch and then pulling away before Guida can get inside on the takedown. Guida dives forward, looking for a takedown, but Green sprawls well and works himself free. Green showboating on the feet. His jab is landing clean. The right hand comes behind it. Guida rushes in on a single, but Green again defends it perfectly, pressing down on the head and sprawling, then scrambling away. Green stomps at the lead leg a bit, then pops the jab. Guida answers with a low kick. He’s relentless in moving forward, but Green is timing everything well. Flying knee from Green in the closing seconds. Guida gets a late takedown. No time to do anything with it. MMA Junkie give it to Green, 10-9.

Round 3 – Guida still bouncing, trying to get something going. Green has his hands down. Guida leaps forward and gets deep on a double. He gets Green to the floor. Green immediately to the knees and starts looking to wrok free. Beautiful reversal, and he’s back on the feet. Guida with a left hand, but Green answers with three punches. Nice right hand from Green. Guida shoos again, and he does get Green to a knee. Green with a beautiful switch off the cage, but Guida doesn’t give up that easy. Second effort from Green gets it done. He’s in the dominant position on the outside. Guida holds tight on a single. Green sprawls well and pushes down, pounding away at the body. Green back to his feet. He defends well with less than a minute and spins to the outside. Guida again drives forward for a takedown, but Green defends it perfectly and punches as he continues to sprawl. Action until the end, and MMA Junkie gives the final round to Green, 10-9, awarding him the fight 29-28.

Jim Miller vs. Roosevelt Roberts

Round 1 – Early exchange sees Roberts off-balance and on his back. He tries to turn for an arm, but Miller slips away and looks to grab the neck. Roberts has to defend that, and he settles again on his back. Half-guard for Roberts. He laces in a few little punches as Miller tries to get his trapped leg free. Roberts able to maintain. He turns and looks to escape, but he leaves his arm behind. Miller sees it and gets himself in perfect position. Arm is in trouble. Roberts tries to stack to stay safe. As he feels better, he looks to pull free, but Miller doesn’t let go. Arm is still trapped, and Roberts has to verbally submit. Nice result for the gritty veteran.

Lyman Good vs. Belal Muhammad

Round 1 – Jabs traded to start. Good with a low kick. He walks forward with a few bog punches, but Muhammad is able to slip away and move to the outside. Good aggressive to start, and Muhammad is trying to move laterally on the outside and avoid the power shots. Muhammad with a jab and a nice uppercut down the middle. He’s trying to make some room, but Good is pressing from the center. Good with a nice right hand, but Muhammad slips out to the center. Muhammad moving well and seems the faster man right now, but Good’s power is clear. He misses a big haymaker. Muhammad with a nice two-punch combination. Muhammad with constant movement, sticking and moving. Good tracking from the middle and looking for the big right. Muhammad again with a crisp two punches before slipping away. Muhammad scores with the jab. Left hand lands. Good holding the center, but it’s Muhammad with the volume. Round ends, and MMA Junkie gives it to Muhammad, 10-9.

Round 2 – Good agin to the center, and Muhammad moving laterally on the outside. He fakes a takedown and slips away. Muhammad constantly moving and changing angles and levels. Muhammad drops from distance. Good sprawls, and Muhammad presses him to the fence. Good defends well, so Muhammad backs away. He shoos again quickly, but Good reacts well, so Muhammad moves away. Muhammad complains of an eyepoke, and we get a quick break. Good apologizes, and we carry on. Deep breath from Good on the restart. He’s holding the center, but he’s not cutting off the cage. Muhammad continues to move and fire, move and fire. Muhammad with a nice uppercut and a big hook, as well. Good’s corner asking for him to let his hands go. He does get close and land a few clean shots, but Muhammad is able to slip away and move back to the center. Muhammad with a takedown attempt that comes up short, but he lands a knee to the body and moves away. Round ends on the feet, and MMA Junkie again leans toward Muhammad, 10-9.

Round 3 – Good needs to make something happen. He’s in the center, but Muhammad continues to move well on the outside. Muhammad cut near his right eye, and blood trickling down his cheek. Good presses and lands a big shot, and Muhammad is staggered and briefly hits the floor. He’s quickly back up and looking for a takedown, but it’s not there. Good’s corner wants him to press. He lands a stiff jab. Muhammad swinging back. Fun exchanges. Muhammad grabs a Thai clinch, but Good pulls away. Good with a nice right hand halfway through. Muhammad still moving, but he’s not the one leading the exchanges anymore. Muhammad does land a nice step-in knee, and then he changes levels and nails the takedown. Good immediately back to his feet. Muhammad slips around to the back. Goods witches inside, and Muhammad has to pull away. One minute left. Good breathing heavy. Muhammad seems to have a little pop back in his step. He drives in for a takedown and is able to slip to the back in the final minute. He’s going side to side with the arms, looking for the choke. Good peeling the arms away until the end. Very close round. MMA Junkie leans toward Good, 10-9, but awards the fight to Muhammad, 29-28.

Round 1 – Reneau misses a low kick as she moves to the right on the outside. Pennington holding the center to start. She rushes forward but eats a right hand. Reneau staying bust early. Pennington a little more patient to open, but she’s accurate when she throws. Reneau setting the pace early, but Pennington answering with crisp punches. Pennington moves to the clinch and drives the action to the fence. Reneau battles her way off and lands a nice knee inside, but Pennington answers with one of her own. Reneau pulls away and lands a few nice punches from range, but Pennington gets back inside and looks to work in the clinch. She holds the action against the fence and lands a nice knee inside. Reneau battles and is able to sneak around to the back a bit. Pennington battling to stay upright. Reneau trying to sweep a leg away, but it’s not there. Reneau settles for a few knees inside. Round ends, and MMA Junkie leans toward Reneau, 10-9,

Round 2 – Reneau continues to land from range. Pennington returning fire and lands with a big Superman punch. She’s looking to be a little more aggressive at the start. They clinch, and Reneau pushes the action to the fence. She lands a low knee, and Pennington grimaces. Referee Mark Smith calls time. Pennington takes a little time, but we carry on. Pennington low kick on the restart. Reneau lacing out long punches, but Pennington again returning fire with powerful combinations. Reneau pushes the action to the cage. Reneau gets the Thai plum and lands a few knees inside while she defends against the fence. Pennington switches off. She’s doing well inside. Reneau spins to the outside, but Pennington still controlling the head and landing big shots inside. Reneau gets Pennington off-balance and sweeps her to the floor, but Pennington reacts well and is able to switch to the top. Reneau gets her legs high, but the submission isn’t there. Pennington pulls free and lands a big punch rom the top. Pennington backs away, and Reneau scrambles up. Pennington immediately in tight and controlling from the outside. Elbows traded inside. Pennington back to the Thai clinch and delivering big knees. She changes levels, but Reneau defends and lands elbows to the head. They finish there. MMA Junkie gives it to Pennington, 10-9.

Round 3 – Reneau out quickly with punches. She’s looking for a quick start. She grabs a clinch and looks for a trip. She gets Pennington to her knees and moves around to the back. Pennington stands. Reneau briefly holding one leg but can’t get her back down. Reneau pressing, but she eats a big knee to the body and backs away. Pennington sharp with her strikes. She’s getting the best of the exchanges. Pennington again goes to the Thai clinch, and she’s delivering big knees there. Reneau backs away and wants to strike from range. She has some success there, but Pennington answers well and moves inside to the clinch, where she’s been very effective. Reneau pulls free, but Pennington aggressively advances with punches and gets back to the clinch again. Pennington looking to change levels, but Reneau pushes her away. They trade punches, but Pennington is getting the best of this. Reneau drops and shoots, but Pennington stays upright and controls the neck. Snapdown, but Reneau is able to get back to her feet. Pennington again controls from the Thai clinch. They exchange until the end. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Pennington, 10-9, and awards her the fight 29-28.

Shane Burgos vs. Josh Emmett

Round 1 – Burgos to the center, but Emmett tags him with a low kick and then moves forward with a few hard punches. Both men start firing heavy shots. Emmett seems to be moving a little gingerly on his left leg, but it’s not stopping him from throwing heavy leather. Inside low kick from Emmett, but Burgos answers right back. Solid pace to open. Emmett still loading up on his punches, but Burgos is chopping the legs and answering back, as well. Burgos attacking from the center. He keeps kicking at the legs, though X is throwing massive haymakers at every opportunity. Slapping low kick from Burgos. He avoids another huge right from Emmett. They keep trading punches, and Burgos sticks out his tongue. Emmett landing bug shots, but Burgos just walking through them right now. Burgos with crisp jabs to the mark, and he chops the legs, as well. Emmett with a takedown attempt late, but he can’t get it. Huge right hands blocked. Fun round, and MMA Junkie leans Burgos, 10-9.

Round 2 – Burgos with the crisp punches to start, and Emmett winging the bombs. Both having their moments. Emmett takes a funny step. Left leg definitely bothering him. Emmett charges forward with big punches that land, and Burgos somehow just shakes them off and swings back. Emmett is landing, but Burgos just absorbing the damage and firing back with crisp straight punches. Burgos’ jab is crisp, and the damage to the legs is adding up. Burgos loses his mouthpiece, so we take a quick timeout to replace it. Halfway through the round, and the action remains quick. Both men are having their moments. Emmett’s shots are powerful, but Burgos seems to be unfazed. He’s technical with his straight punches. Burgos’s nose now bloodied. Meanwhile Emmett staggering a little from the leg damage. Heck of a fight. MMA Junkie leans toward Emmett in that one, 10-9.

Round 3 – Scores could be anywhere. This fight has been crazy. Emmett with a left hand that finally drops Burgos, who slowly falls to the floor. Emmett jumps on top and wants a finish, but but Burgos is recovering well. Emmett slows his aggression to pace the attack. Burgos able to turn and escape back to his feet. He lands to the groin. Emmett in clear pan and goes to his knees when referee Jason Herzog calls for timeout. Emmett stands, and he’s clearly in some pain. Herzog warns Burgos, and we carry on. Burgos with a high kick that’s blocked on the restart. Emmett with a huge overhand right. Good movement again from Burgos. He’s got some energy. Emmett again with a left hand that lands clean, and Burgos is down. Emmett follows to the floor. Big punches again, but Burgos recovers. Emmett backs away, and we start again on the feet. Burgos still working the legs and landing the crisp jab. He sneaks in a big uppercut. Emmett lands a huge right. Burgos’ face is bloodied, but he’s swinging. Emmett drops his hands late, showboating a little. They engage again and swing to the end. Hell of a fight. MMA Junkie gives the final round to Emmett, 10-9, and awards him the fight 29-28.
