Video: Daniel Cormier hosts Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo face-to-face interview

Will Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo be the next UFC bantamweight title fight? It appears both men have interest.

Sterling (21-3 MMA, 13-3 UFC), the reigning UFC titleholder at 135 pounds, is expected to return to the octagon this year for his second title defense. Among the potential candidates to fight him is Cejudo, a former two-division UFC titleholder and Olympic gold medalist who retired from MMA competition two years ago.

Cejudo (16-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) is in the midst of a comeback to the octagon, though. He recent reenlisted in the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) testing pool and is targeting a marquee bout when he gets back in the cage. A chance to regain the bantamweight belt would meet the criteria, and Cejudo told Sterling that to his face during a new in-person interview.

Soon-to-be UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier hosted a sitdown interview with the two at Cejudo’s house in Phoenix at UFC 274 this past weekend, and he made his intentions known (via YouTube).

“I’m going to expose him,” Cejudo said to Sterling. “He’s got a lot of flaws. He’s got an ability to him, and I think that is his greatest asset. His limbs. … I think he’s easy money. … He’s got the belt, but he’s not the best in the world.”

Sterling, a perpetual underdog en route to the UFC title, thinks he has the answer to Cejudo and said he would make him regret the choice to reenter into to the fight game.

“I like my chances,” Sterling said. “I like proving people wrong. It’s satisfying. There’s something very satisfying about talking your sh*t, then being the guy walks away like, ‘How bout that?’”
