Video: What will it take to get Curtis Blaydes a UFC heavyweight title shot?
For the fourth time in five fights, Curtis Blaydes headlined a UFC show this past Saturday.
The UFC’s return to a full house of fans in Columbus, Ohio, saw Blaydes look about as perfect as he could have hoped. He didn’t rely on his wrestling at all against Chris Daukaus. He traded punches and kicks with him in the first round to feel him out, then brutally knocked him out early in the second.
Afterward, Blaydes said he’d like a title shot – or former champ Stipe Miocic. With champ Francis Ngannou likely out the rest of the year, things are in disarray at heavyweight for the UFC. But regardless, has Blaydes shown us enough to be justified for a crack at the belt? What more do we need to see?
